Square Bolt Knife – Access via the follower behind the escutcheon
Square bolt knives are designed to reach behind the lifted door escutcheon and activate the spindle (follower) to unlock the door. The tool is inserted behind the plate, engages the square spindle, and can then trigger the mechanism by applying downward pressure.
The blades feature rounded edges to avoid tearing, and a thinner center section for maximum flexibility during use.
Important note:
To lift the handle plate far enough from the door leaf, a suitable handle remover is required. This tool allows you to lift standard escutcheons – and in emergencies, even break off security hardware. A marking on the handle remover shows the correct insertion depth for the knife.
Available sizes:
- 8 mm – for interior doors (72 mm backset)
- 9 mm – for panic locks and fire-rated doors
- 10 mm – for front doors (92 mm backset)
