TFG Door Latch Slider – Flexible tools for non-destructive door entry
TFG latch shims are specifically designed for quickly opening shut but unlocked doors – commonly used by fire departments, rescue services, and locksmiths.
Made from highly flexible spring steel (0.8 mm thick), they are available in five different leg lengths: 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 mm.
To use, gently press the door leaf into the frame and insert the shim into the gap. Then slide it over the latch in a controlled motion – the door opens without damaging the cylinder, leaf, or frame.
Thanks to the rounded edge and smooth surface, there’s minimal risk of scratches. If insertion is hindered by tight door seals, applying a little lubricant or spray can help.
Important note:
These tools are suitable only for single rebate doors. They are not suitable for double-rebated or multi-point locking systems.
